The J. Lewis Powell Mission Ministries is a Mission-focused not-for-profit religious organization that seeks:

 

• To present a Biblical perspective of Missions as initiated and engaged in by the Early Christian Church under the Guidance of the Holy Spirit;
   

• To challenge and enable Local Church Mission Leaders and Workers to expand their horizons to develop and implement effective Mission Ministries within the Local Church, within the Local Church Community, and partnering with Sister Churches and Church Bodies for Local and Global efforts to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ;
   

• To promote Mission Trips, Youth Missions Projects, Mission Conferences and Workshops, and Mission Educational Programs through the J. Lewis Powell Scholarship Fund, Grants, Personal Resources, and Financial Contributions;
   

• To establish and maintain a beneficial relationship between the J. Lewis Powell Scholarship Fund Trustees and District, State and National Convention Mission Bodies, local Churches, and Mission-focused Individuals;  
   

• To partner with and/or support designated Mission and Educational Projects and Programs ministry for the benefit of the American Baptist College, Home Mission and Foreign Mission Ministries, and other approved special Mission efforts.
   

Various projects and activities may be held at churches and/or other venues conducive to the moral principles of the organization.  Some activities may also involve activities specifically addressed to youth and young adults. Mission trips and projects may be promoted, sponsored, hosted, supported and/or taken to designated localities within and outside the continental United States.
